CarbExplore Research is the leading expert in the development of carbohydrate-active (engineered) enzymes, and the manufacture of functional carbohydrates as food ingredients, as nutraceuticals and for applications as materials. In this way we contribute to a healthy and sustainable planet. Our technologies are based on 25 years of academic research in the Microbial Physiology Research Group of em. prof. dr. Lubbert Dijkhuizen at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. CarbExplore Research develops its own products and performs research for globally operating food industries. Function
CarbExplore Research is looking for a scientist who can independently perform research for customers, and contribute to our own product development. Tasks include writing research proposals, performing laboratory work, supervising technicians, reporting to and communicating with customers.

Profile
You have a biochemical or molecular biological background and have finished your PhD. Affinity with HPLC, GC, NMR, MS and (bio)chemical techniques is desired. You enjoy working in a small team. You should be able to commit to challenges, be flexible to perform different projects in a short time frame, and willing to perform routine analyses. Experience with carbohydrate structural analysis is an advantage, but not essential.

Conditions of employment
The conditions of employment meet the bargaining agreement of the company CarbExplore Research BV. The employment basis is a temporary contract for one year with an extension possibility. We offer a competitive salary.
